Eurythmos Mark II
I'm currently working on an updated version of Eurythmos. Using what I learned from the first iteration I have a better focus on the game that I want to make. For example, my previous desire was to make a game where following the rhythym was necessary for survival, but as I saw with Eurythmos, that leads to an uncompromisingly difficult game, and an equally difficult problem of incorporating any more than the beat of the song. Ultimately all you could do in the last game was keep a steady beat. With this I plan to take an approach closer to Rez, where the song informs the gameplay but doesn't dictate it. Additionally, I plan to better sync the enemy AI to the music, hopefully allowing for complex movements that are conquerable due to deft timing and an ear for the soundtrack. More on this project as it comes.
